Deepest Fear

25 November 2007

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate - our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?" Actually, who are you not to be?

"You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are born to make manifest the Glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.

"And as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

-Marianne Williamson

Good quote. there is a lot in it that I would love to be able to do/believe/feel. Little by little I might get there.

Thanks for posting it.

Mollie is right on this one. It's also one of my favorite quotes. I love how tells us that we have all the potential in the world to be great and that if we let our light shine, others lights will also start to shine. It's just wonderful!

When you broke your silence and started changing your posts, you allowed Samuel and I to start expressing our thoughts and feelings towards the church (Samuel hasn't posted yet, but he is working on it). By causing your light to shine, you are helping us to shine our light, which can then cause a chain reaction and help to do the same. It's wonderful!

Thank you for being who you are and for this quote!
