Dependent

13 October 2007
It is so easy to become dependent on something and this scares me. I have noticed it in friendships, relationships, blogging, gaining acceptance, getting good grades, etc. My list can go on and on and on! I have never noticed this before until my counselor pointed this out to me today.

Why is it so easy to become dependent on something, but so hard to not be dependent on something?

I need to work on having a better balance in my life and not depending on one thing too much.

PS This is my fiftieth post!

Life is indeed about balance. I think that's the key to true happiness, keeping all the various aspects of our lives balanced. Maybe someday I'll figure out how to do it, too.

I would add more, but Annabelle said it perfectly.

At least you never have to worry about being overly dependent on the Savior. And once we figure that out, other things (so I'm told) will fall into place. I have the same dilemma, I think- sometimes I want everything to be perfect and most of the time I don't get my way :)
Thanks for the swim meet experiece; you know- it was way better than watching swimming on tv! You're a blast!

We weren't meant to live in vacuums. From the beginning, men were meant to depend on others. Adam needed Eve. They both needed God. In fact we are all beggars who depend on God for everything. And I don't think that He is the only one we are supposed to depend on. Men were just meant to be dependent creatures.
